Pate de Fruit

The origins of these classic confections can be traced back to 10th century France, a time before the advent of refrigeration. Back then, the technique of preserving fresh fruits with sugar to create jellies, some of which were firm enough to be shaped, emerged. These delightful treats, known as pâtes de fruits (pronounced: PAT-de-FWEE), offered a convenient and bite-sized way to relish the flavors of fresh fruit throughout the year.
